Week 47: A visit from the Easter Tanuki!

It's Easter! I didn't do anything to celebrate. Orthodox Easter is next weekend, so my friends weren't thinking at all about Easter this week, and I only saw a few Easter sweets in stores; other holidays (that aren't really celebrated here) had a much better showing.

The weather has been very warm and most of the snow is gone, but the last day or two have been pretty cool and very windy. I got out for a nice walk on Saturday afternoon with my friends. We saw lots of birds and foxes, and we even saw a very ratty-looking tanuki!! We chased him into the woods but he was too wily, and I wasn't able to get a picture of him. I think he is somewhere in this photo.

Spot the tanuki and win my thanks!!
On Sunday I biked all over the place and ran some errands, because someone is turning ten very soon and I wanted to find a present! It turned out to be not the greatest day to run around because it was WINDY, but I managed to make it to the far end of town that I haven't been to since the fall.

Now I'm about ready to snuggle in with some miso soup and watch some old Simpsons episodes. An Easter tradition!
